Nurtured Phoenix Bodywork and Birth Services Minneapolis
Carrie Klakeg, Licensed Massage Therapist and Doula
I have worked with many women throughout the childbearing year through massage and support for over ten years. After the birth of my son and postpartum experience I became trained as a Doula to provide even more support for mothers around the Twin Cities area. I have experience with high risk pregnancies and a vast knowledge of neonatal abnormalities and syndromes. My goal is to help women with high risk pregnancies reclaim their birth and postpartum journeys.
Let my wings help bridge the gap from the sterile medical world to your holistic nurturing world.
Every family is unique, so I offer a variety of doula and massage services personalized for each birthing experience. Regardless of what you choose, we will dive into your beliefs and expectations around labor and birth. Together, we will explore your physical and emotional strengths and limitations to ensure you’re completely prepared. Please get in touch to learn more about the various services that I offer.
Get extra personal support throughout the entirety of your birthing journey. As a Doula, I promise to offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during, and after birth. I will stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and offer any support needed. For those who are high risk, I can tag along to some of your appointments to help you navigate through all the medical jargan and overwhelming procedures.
From our initial meeting all the way through your pregnancy and delivery, I take the time to get to know you, your concerns and your needs. I’m always available to contact by phone/email throughout and will provide everything you require to make sure your experience is as calm and positive as possible
Some things that can be included:
Lactation support, nutrition support for mom, light cleaning and laundry, and help with any baby needs to allow mom to fully recover and get some well deserved rest.
After beginning our relationship with a meet and greet, as your doula I am committed to your health and the wellbeing of your growing family. I believe that massage is an important part of this during pregnancy and in your postpartum stage. I like to include two prenatal massages and two postpartum to provide extra support not only emotionally, but physically throughout your childbearing year.
Infant Massage Instruction
Group or one-on-one classes to encourage bonding between you and your baby.
Infant massage helps encourage sleep and relaxation for baby. It has also been shown to improve colic and gas.
